Walking in the Footsteps of George Washington
The first US President spent a week in Charleston in May 1791. This walking tour, guided by a licensed city historian, takes you to buildings associated with Washington, including the house where he stayed, and a tavern where he dined (both open to the public). Four National Historic Landmarks are covered on this walk, and the discussion includes fascinating detail about events he attended and people he met, and his reactions to Charleston. A one-of-a kind tour.

If you have a particular interest, and wish to self-guide, Signseeker Travel can also custom design a tour for you.
Signseeker Travel is NOT a travel agency; we do not make airline reservations or book hotel rooms. We can assist in those areas, but booking tickets and accommodations is not our business and we receive no commissions. Instead, we provide you with in depth information on topics and areas you’re interested in, design your tour, and help you get there.
We identify your topic, and assess your situation by questionnaire or interview (as you prefer); we then research, design and create your itinerary, and include all the information required for you to explore an area and/or subject on your own. We do all the planning and streamlining for your adventure; all YOU have to do is GO!
For example: Let’s say you’re interested in cathedrals, and will be staying in London for four days. There are three cities with cathedrals you can visit on daytrips from London: Gloucester, Winchester and York. The itinerary would include travel information to/from these cities, overviews of the cities and the cathedrals, and other useful information, such as where to eat, money-saving tips, etc. All recommendations are based on actual experiences.
This travel packet enables you to enjoy your adventure with minimum hassle and maximum pleasure. The cost of the packet is negotiable, depending on length of journey, subject matter, etc.

The double disk and Z-rod symbols are the logo of Signseeker Travel.
In the Dark Ages, in what is now the eastern part of Scotland, lived tribes collectively known as Picts (“Pictii” or“Painted Ones” as nicknamed by the Romans). "Pictii" was general, derogatory term the Romans used to refer to ALL so-called "barbarians"; there is NO evidence the Picts painted their bodies. This is a common misconception about the ancient peoples of Scotland!
The origin of the Picts is mysterious; they may have been Celts or descendents of an indigenous Iron Age people. Picts only existed as a distinct group from ca. 300-900 AD, after which time they were absorbed into the Scottish identity.
History and archeology tell us they were great warriors and brilliant artisans, particularly in stone carving – that is arguably their greatest legacy. The Picts left us records of themselves in symbols carved on stones scattered throughout several Scottish regions. There are at least 30 distinct symbols that have been identified. Their meanings remain a source of active debate.
The double disk /Z-rod logo of SIGNKEEKER TRAVEL has several possible interpretations:
Discs represent this world and the next; the Z-rod shows man’s path from this world to the next
Discs/Z-rod represent the union of two warrior clans into one tribe; the “double disk tribe”
Z-rod is a broken spear or arrow, representing the death of a warrior from the “double disk” tribe
It could be none or all of the above, or many other interpretations: NO ONE knows.
And yes, we know sign seeker is actually TWO words, but since the symbols are combined…so are the words!
